RaceDay Scoring Streams
Streams are how RaceDay Scoring receives timing data from Time Machine readers. Each reader needs its own stream.
Understanding Streams
A Stream is a connection to a source of timing data. For Time Machine readers, you typically use:
-
File Stream - RaceDay monitors a folder for timing files
-
Direct Stream - Real-time connection to the reader
Creating a Stream
-
Open RaceDay Scoring
-
Navigate to the Streams section
-
Click "Add Stream"
-
Configure the stream settings
Configuring Multiple Readers
Create one stream for each Time Machine:
| Stream Name | IP Address | Purpose |
|---|---|---|
Start-192.168.1.101 |
192.168.1.101 |
Start line reader |
Finish-192.168.1.102 |

Stream Settings
File Format
Configure the stream to match Time Machine output format:
-
Delimiter (comma, tab, etc.)
-
Column order (Chip ID, Timestamp, etc.)
-
Time format
Refer to RaceDay Scoring documentation: Importing Reads from RFID Server
Testing Streams
After creating streams:
-
Ensure Time Machine is connected and logging
-
Start collecting reads in RaceDay Scoring
-
Pass a test chip through the timing line
-
Verify the read appears in RaceDay Scoring
Troubleshooting Streams
Stream Shows "Not Connected"
-
Verify network connectivity to Time Machine
-
Check IP address matches stream configuration
-
Verify Time Machine is powered on and logging
Replay Stream Function
If reads exist in the file but did not appear in RaceDay:
-
Locate the stream in RaceDay Scoring
-
Click Replay
-
RaceDay will re-process all data from the file
-
Previously missed reads should now appear
Next Step
Proceed to Timing Locations to assign streams to race locations.
